Nelson Electric’s work on the Frederiksen
Court Expansion Project also earned them
a Merit Alliance Award from ABC of Iowa.
At the same event, the company was fur-
ther honored as a recipient of a Silver STEP
Award for their achievements in safety train-
ing.
Matt adds that the company is also particu-
larly pleased by all that recognition because
of the source. Nelson Electric is a proud
member of ABC, and regularly puts people
through the association’s four year appren-
ticeship program – and those people often
become long-term employees.
“By the time people get out of that program,
they’re very knowledgeable, and able to step
right into a journeyman’s position,” Matt
said.
Nelson Electric also takes advantage of
ABC’s safety training, Matt adds. That’s im-
portant, because making sure all of their em-
