“We focus on that quite a bit,” Matt said.
In years past, that focus has been consistent-
ly rewarded with STEP Safety Awards – in-
cluding a Gold Award in 2009 on the Na-
tional level.
Nelson Electric is also an 18 time recipient
of the Ames Tribune “Best of Mid-Iowa”
designation and a two-time recipient of An-
gie’s List Super Service Awards in 2013 and
2011. Associates in the company also stay ac-
tive with other trade associations such as the
Design Build Institute of America (DBIA),
American Society of Professional Estimators
(ASPE), International Association of Elec-
trical Inspectors (IAEI), National Fire Pro-
tection Association (NFPA), and commu-
nity Chambers of Commerce in their service
areas.
Moving forward, Nelson Electric aims to
keep earning those awards. More important-
ly, they aim to keep delivering quality proj-
ects to satisfied customers. That’s what the
Nelson family has done for more than 100
years, and what they hope to keep doing for
100 more.
“We want to bring value to our partners,” Jer-
ry concluded. “Most of our work comes from
reputation and relationships, and we want to
keep it that way. We want to keep perform-
ing, and keep making sure our last project
earns us an invitation to our next project. We
want to be the contractor of choice in the ar-
eas we serve.”
