Wyle, a privately held company who pro-
vides high-tech aerospace engineering,
information technology, and test & evalu-
ation services to the aerospace, defense
and nuclear power industries, has just
earned a $14.9 million contract to provide
analyses of both military and commer-
cially-developed semiconductor devices
and components for the U.S. Air Force
Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Wyle
will essentially provide independent
technology assessments on advanced
and emerging semiconductor materials
to help the Air Force measure the capa-
bilities and potential applications of new
technologies. Wyle will reportedly col-
laborate with the National High Reliabil-
ity Electronics Virtual Center and other
device research organizations to forecast
emerging electronic technologies and op-
portunities, while also assessing needs
and performing prequalification studies.
