the entire Latin American Caribbean region.
I think that is a push for us, but we have
not seen, although globally our ranking has
dropped, we still have remained the No. 1
within the region, which is actually good for
us in terms of how our processes are. Where
we are lagging behind is in trade logistics,
which looks at the distance and cost of im-
porting things in and out of the country, not
necessarily the costs we receive, but in terms
of the distance aspect, the freight aspect,
which is something that we are actually very
concerned about.
BW:
How important an event is the invest-
ment forum in May and what sorts of things
are going to be talked about at it?
HYACINTH-WELLS:
The investment
forum is the event to go to. It is the signa-
ture event of Invest Saint Lucia – actually,
the inaugural one. The intention is to have
the investment forum held every two years
bi-annually, where we will be able to attract
a pool of investors who have showed inter-
est in Saint Lucia and persons who are in-
terested in the investment projects. Persons
who have communicated their interest, and
we intend to showcase the projects that we
believe are our winning projects. We have
