islation is very investor-friendly. We do not
have those discriminatory clauses in there. A
Saint Lucia investor as well as a foreign in-
vestor would have the same opportunities
and advantages. We don’t have very high tax-
es, as compared to other jurisdictions. I will
say we have low tax reduction, but we don’t
have very high tax rates. We have favorable
incentives to encourage investment in our
priority sectors, being tourism and manufac-
turing. Our labor force, the government has
spent a lot of monies over the years ensuring
that we have a quality labor force, where our
education system actually caters to creating
a wealth of knowledge in trends of the labor
force as required for talent, as required for
investing in a country.
We also have, in terms of the tourism sec-
tor, which is our major sector, some of our
scenic beauty, where this is what you come to
Saint Lucia for – you come for the beauty, to
take in that breath of fresh air. So in terms of a
favorable investment environment, we actu-
ally see Saint Lucia as having the investment
environment, especially within the location
where we are. We are located in the Caribbe-
an and we have the largest economy within
the Caribbean in terms of financial services,
legal services, other services that are required
for doing business. Saint Lucia actually has
a wealth of that in place. We’ve had years of
very good experience with investments.
