Invest Saint Lucia | 15
text of a longer-term vision for growth of the
country. So that is where the investment firm
is going.
BW:
What do you anticipate, what do you
hope will change or be different between
now and five years from now?
HYACINTH-WELLS
: I think we are going
to see some significant investment influence
between now and five years, where when I
look outside from here, and I see the port, I
would see a more active port. When I look at
our unemployment figures, I see a significant
reduction in unemployment, especially in
younger persons unemployed. I would see a
bigger – how will I say it, the banking sector
doing much better, the financial sector being
improved significantly.
What we do has also predicated on the
world economy and looking at what’s hap-
pening in the world economy tells us that we
are moving towards a much more sustain-
able growth at the global level. I expect to
see more sustainable growth that is going to
drive us in that direction. That is where I see
Saint Lucia growing, our development indi-
cators improving – I see the rate at which we
are doing business improving significantly.
I see new investments in new areas that we
have not thought about, I see new sectors
coming up that we have not thought about
at present. So, I see new things.
