ing with us and training through us under-
stand how we work. In the end and training
costs go down and it minimizes risks on ev-
erything because they know how we operate
with the maintenance of the aircraft. It’s a
nice pattern that works very well.”
LOCAL AIRSPACE
Having invested in a 10,000 square feet
maintenance facility four years ago, Spec-
trum’s growth has spurred a healthy influx of
local customers and students, which in turn
that has brought about thoughts of expan-
sion into international markets. The focus
on doing things internally – from training to
maintenance ¬– puts an emphasis maintain-
ing their local, grassroots perspective.
“We’ve explored bringing in foreign stu-
dents from the Asian market,” Kovachik
said. “We’ve explored the Asian market and
training them to Canadian standards so
when they go back home, they can work for
one of the many national airlines over there.
We are working on that but to be completely
honest I’d like to stay local because it is a nice
atmosphere.”
Headstrong and committed to staying local,
Spectrum has dedicated its resources to over-
hauling their fleet and introducing a new
