are also adjacent older buildings on both the
east and west side.
Additionally, the project was “an infill,” so
the project team had no lay-down area and
only one point of access.
“Coming out of the ground was a challenge,”
Bedi explained. “Another major challenge
was the crane. It was such a small site, so we
had to put a lot of thought into where we put
the crane, and how we would remove it after-
wards. So there were some initial construc-
tion issues.”
Despite these issues, Bedi said the project has
come along “quite successfully.” That success
has been reflected in the market’s early re-
ception of the building. GDC is currently
pre-selling on the property and 65 per cent
of the office condo units have already been
sold.
“And we’re getting inquiries and calls all the
time,” Bedi said. “As the building nears com-
pletion, I expect we’ll be sold out.”
In Bedi’s view, the project has been so well
received due to GDC’s reputation in the
market – at least partly. Over the years, they
have established themselves as a developer to
