At the same time, the company has had to
evolve over the years. For one, Palembas in-
dicates there is less concentration on the
production of decorative glass accessories.
The company still produces its own line of
hand-blown, hand-pressed glass shades for
lamps and sconces. The kilns used for that
glass work help generate heat in the plant
during the winter, but also makes for gruel-
ingly hot labor during the summer. There is
