vice. Palembas affirms that the 200 people
who comprise Contrast Lighting today take
great pride in their work, and don’t simply
see their roles in terms of maintaining a
job, but are engaged as service-providers in-
tent on delivering light to the world. From
its small community in Québec, Contrast
Lighting exists as the primary employer.
The company also has regional sales offices
located throughout Canada and the United
States. As much as the business has grown,
Palembas says it has still maintained the feel
of a small company, with all feeling account-
able to offer input when new products are
designed, or ensure orders are expeditiously
fulfilled and customer needs are being re-
sponded to rapidly. As an employee-owned
company, he says all feel responsible for the
