showrooms, which was once penultimate.
These environments have undergone exten-
sive consolidation and down-sizing, there-
fore, Contrast has worked more closely with
architects, commercial property developers
and interior design professionals. The com-
pany has garnered prestigious awards which
include “Design Excellence Gold” distinc-
tion by Design Journal for their “Artlite
Collection” in the category of lighting and
recessed downlight. Contrast Lighting has
also achieved recognition as a full-fledged
member in good standing with the National
Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers.
With energy efficiency at the forefront of
so many concerns today, Contrast has con-
tinued to innovate. In addition to qualify-
ing as a partner in Energy Star (an industry
seal of approval conferred upon companies
whose products comply with high energy
efficiency criteria and quality manufactur-
ing protocols), Contrast Lighting has been
recognized with the Hydro Power Smart
Excellence Award. This honor was bestowed
by British Columbia’s power utility which
recognizes companies for innovation in
energy-efficient product design that helps
consumers save energy and money, while
