how LED systems are routinely undermined
by the impact of heat. To counter this, Con-
trast has patented a revolutionary new type
of heat-sink. By modifying the structure and
physical make-up of the heatsink (utilizing
copper as opposed to aluminum), Contrast
has improved on the efficiency of LED light-
ing systems.
Otherwise, Contrast is constantly de-
veloping new lines of pendants, wall sconces
and design fixtures for ceilings and walls.
In all regards, Palembas says Contrast and
its employees are driven to impart a sense
of quality that not only serves as the touch-
stone indicative of their products, but the
fundamental component of their customer
service and overall approach to business.
This operational foundation has
helped Contrast Lighting retain not only
critical staff, but also clients who have de-
pended on Contrast’s services since the
company’s launch in 1989. “We’re a very
close-knit organization, not family-run in
the literal sense, but it does sometimes feel
like we’re very much a family,” says Palembas.
“We make a lot of friends, and that’s a great
thing, when you can do business with your
friends.”In determining to foster long-term
customer relationships, staff accountability
and productivity, and developing products
that are both functionally innovative and
discerningly decorative, the future will prove
to be as bright as the illuminating past of
Contrast Lighting.
