passion, and we keep improving. We’re going
to make better grain mills next year than we
did this year.”
A MAGICAL FUTURE
Currently, L’Chef employs a relatively small
and dedicated team, which includes 10
people at their new assembly facility in St.
George. As the company moves their man-
ufacturing efforts into the US and starts
exporting more internationally, however,
Leavitt predicts that number will grow.
“Later this year, we’re going to start manu-
facturing another NutriMill designed prod-
uct in the United States,” he says. “That will
be one more step forward from simple as-
sembly to actual manufacturing. As we con-
tinue down that path, we anticipate growing
a great deal.”
Leavitt also anticipates introducing more
products under the NutriMill and L’Equip
brand names. Several exciting developments
are already on the horizon, and a few very
recent developments have already been met
with positive acclaim.The upcomingL’Equip
Infrared Dehydrator, for example, won an
award in the Kitchen Electrics category at
the 2014 International Housewares Associa-
tion (IHA) Innovation Awards.
Moving forward, the company aims to con-
tinue introducing innovative products wor-
thy of that kind of prestige.
“We take a lot of satisfaction in producing re-
ally high quality products,” Leavitt says. “It’s
important that we’re not peddling stuff that
we wouldn’t want to use in our own homes.
It’s our name on these products, and we want
to make sure what we’re producing lives up
to that name. We want consumers to feel re-
ally good about investing their money in our
products.”
L’Chef started off with products being sold
from people’s living rooms and being ware-
housed in people’s garages in 1990. Since
gearing up and reorganizing in 2012, the
company has already grown and innovated
in leaps and bounds. Leavitt fully expects
to continue leaping well into the future.
“We’ve got a lot of magical things going on
at L’Chef,” he concludes. “We know we’re up
against some industry giants, but we’re very
confident in our products and in our posi-
tion. We’re just going to keep taking it one
step and a time and continue to make prog-
ress.”
