when it comes to the safety of our workers, it
goes a long way in selling our services.”
With projects ranging anywhere between
the one million dollar up to $15 to $20 mil-
lion range, utilizing the proper technology
plays an important factor in reaching their
goal of growing a little every year. But more
importantly, it shows an impetus in increas-
ing their offerings for clients and staying
ahead of the curve.
“We recently made a significant purchase on
utility locating equipment,” Rose said. “We
had a couple of incidents where we had util-
ity hits on the job but thankfully no one was
hurt. We were very lucky. One of our big-
gest technology moves going forward is us-
ing this equipment and pushing it now and
in our future projects and taking corrective
action.” Like any company on the rise, chal-
lenges are inevitable. For W.M. Schultz, go-
ing forward and implementing new safety
initiatives while continuing to lead the way,
it’s part of the growing processes.
“One of our biggest struggles is getting ev-
erybody to realize the importance of what
we’re trying to push for.” Rose said. “Guys get
set in their ways and ask why are we chang-
ing something. That’s our biggest struggle
is getting everyone to adapt to the changes
and realize it’s for the better and for every-
body’s safety and overall production in the
company.”
