Getting the employees to buy into our phi-
losophy of safety as a priority and not just a
goal has already in the form of the AGC
recognition, proves that focusing on leaving
a positive impactdoes indeed pay off.
"They've come such a long way," said Rose. "I
think internally it shows our team that we're
focusing on their safety, and wellbeing, and
it's not going unnoticed."
THE FUTURE OF W.M.
SCHULTZ
Reputation and recognition aside, W.M.
Schultz Construction’s goals and aspirations
for the future are lofty, as the company looks
to take on bigger, more complex projects.
“There is a big push to replace a lot of the
bridges in NY State.” He said. "They don't
exactly meet the mark as far as safety goes -
a lot of them were designed to last 50 years
and they’ve been there for 80 to 90 years so
they’re showing signs of wear.”
While they look to continually build on
their existing infrastructure, from a safety
perspective, Rose is targeting ways to fur-
ther drive positive change and project devel-
opment throughout the company.
“As far as projects go, one of the things I’ll
be doing is looking at areas where we can
continually improve our training to keep up
and/or exceed industry standards even what
we’re using for equipment and materials out
in the field, and how we can just continue to
improve.”
From humble beginnings on the Schultz
Farm to becoming one of New York State’s
most trusted names in heavy civil construc-
tion and safety awareness, W.M Schultz
Construction continues to carry on the lega-
cy passed down from years past, as they head
into a very profitable and prosperous future.
