"We have a pretty wide range of people ,
who we've worked with for many, many
years," explains Sparkman."As much as pos-
sible, they're local, but we also draw from a
wide range of companies that are out there,
and utilize them in the right place. We enjoy
working directly with them."
"We benefit from the contractors we work
with because they have incredible knowl-
edge, and we learn from it," he adds.
In terms of the projects Sweet Sparkman
Architects choose to take on, it's an utmost
priority for the firm to assess the goals of the
project to ensure it's the right job for them.
Goals that will challenge them to rise to new
expectations and continue the ongoing pro-
cess of improvement. "We're less interested
in size and more interested in the goals of the
project," says Sparkman. "We're interested in
projects that push us into challenges that we
didn't expect and really hone our skills."
On the future of Sweet SparkmanArchitects,
Sparkman says that they remain committed
to investing in their team as a necessity of the
industry, "This is a business of collaboration,
so investing in people who get that sense of
the need for teamwork is a really important
investment."
"We want to continue to bring fresh and ac-
tive minds that challenge us along the way.
That's the ambition," Sparkman concludes.
