BW: What sort of skills or knowledge are
people looking for when they go to that
event?
PEZOLD: It’s quite a wide range of topics
that are covered. It covers everything from
imports/exports to cargo claims to insur-
ance, selection of carriers, how to save money
in transportation through preparing big pro-
posals, things like that, which a lot of peo-
ple do these days, loss and damage through
proper packaging, and blocking/bracing us-
ing proper materials, both for trucking and
for intermodal.
BW: What are some of the items at the top
of the agenda for your membership? Things
that your membership is concerned with,
items that are crossing your desk every day
that you’re asked to read and provide educa-
tion on, or provide action on, or advise them
on, or whatever. What is the membership
thinking about and what is top of the line
for them?
PEZOLD: The thing that keeps me busi-
est is that we have a Q&A forum session on
the website and we get a couple of questions
every week from people all over the coun-
try and they could be owner-operators that
have a problem, they could be shippers that
