he Transportation & Logistics
Council celebrated birthday No.
40 at its annual convention last
month in Nashville, where the organization’s
executive director, George Pezold, reflected
on progress made since it was founded in
1974 as the Shipper’s National Freight Claim
Council Inc. The name changed to Trans-
portation Claims and Prevention Council
Inc. in 1990 to reflect the broadening of ac-
tivities and objectives, and changed again in
1996 in response to an increasing role in the
protection of consumers of transportation
services.
