ware and software in place, but we hope to
have it up-and-running by next year.”
According to Mayor Joines, Winston-Salem
is also a strong location to start a business
– or bring an existing business – due to the
strength of their potential workforce and the
quality of life they have to offer residents.
“There’s a very strong work ethic among our
workforce here, so employers can always
count on good solid workers,” he said. “We
have five institutions of higher education
that provide good, trained potential em-
ployees.”
“We also have low-costs of living compared
to the national average,” he added. “We’re
continually ranked as one of the best places
to live in America, and one of the most af-
fordable places to live and work.”
“And we have very strong infrastructure,” he
said. “We have great water capacity, sewer
capacity, broadband availability, and so on. I
think we have all the ingredients a company
needs to be successful here.”
FOSTERING INNOVATION
Like Mayor Joines says, Winston-Salem has
received plenty of acclaim for its liveabil-
