W
hile baseball has been very, very good to the Steinbrenner family, it turns
out European club soccer teams have been even better for their respective
members when it comes to money. In fact, the top three on Forbes
magazine's list of most valuable sports teams are stalwarts of the traditional "football" scene
across the pond, before America's pastime makes an appearance in the form of the Bronx
Bombers at No. 4. Still, 30 of the 50 teams in the magazine's expanded list are from the
National Football League, led in the top 10 by entries from Dallas, New England,
Washington and New York. One other baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, joins one
more soccer club, BayernMunich, to round out the top 10. The average value of the top 10
teams is $2.315billion.
