tunities for advancement. Beyond the skilled
nursing and medical training, staff can also
access Christian leadership training through
a two-year program and partnership with a
Christian University. This training isn’t the
customary courses for professional pursuits
of the for-profit world, but aligned to prin-
ciples backed-up by Biblical passages. At the
same, finances and budgetary realities are an
important theme in the subject of steward-
ship.
Phillippe says being a good stewardmeans
being financially responsible. “Sometimes,
Church-based associations lose sight of fi-
nancial principles. You can get into trouble
without good, sound budgeting. We believe
we have to be good stewards of our resources
or it hurts our ministry,” says Phillippe.
Being a good steward also involves the
manner in which facilities are maintained.
“It is hard to honor God with ugly buildings
that are out of date,” says Phillippe.
