few buildings that can compete with Kelly
Ramsey.” The project is also at the forefront
of environment sustainability, and was de-
signed to attain LEED Gold Certification –
one of the highest standards for sustainabil-
ity in the market. “We’ve made the decision
to seek not simply a LEED-certified build-
ing, but a LEED Gold-certified building,”
Kevin says. “I think that says a lot about our
commitment to sustainability.”
Moving forward, Pangman will continue to
live up to that commitment on present and
future projects. Currently, Pangman De-
velopment Corporation is developing four
projects – two larger ones, and two smaller
industrial ones. Altogether, those projects
are valued at more than $700 million.
According to Kevin, the company also has
$700 million worth of work in the concep-
tual and planning stages. He expects this fu-
ture work to live up to the high standards the
company has already set.
“We want to ensure the projects are of the
highest quality,” Kevin says. “We want to
build multi-generational assets in the City of
Edmonton.”
As an example of that goal in action, he cites
their J22 project – a 275,000 square foot
mixed use project on Jasper Avenue between
122nd and 123rd Street, due for completion
by the end of 2015. That project consists of
a 12 storey building, as well as 270 under-
ground parking stalls. The top 10 storeys are
residential apartments built on behalf of an
investor. The lower two storeys consist of a
Canadian Western Bank building that has
been finished and operating since last year,
and a grocery store that is currently under
construction.
According to John and Kevin, J22 a project
that the whole team is highly proud of and
cares deeply about – and the same can be
said of the Kelly Ramsey Tower, and every
other project they take on as well.
“Everyone on our team looks at their involve-
ment in a project as an opportunity to create
something that not only they will be proud
of, but the people who come after them will
be proud of as well,” Kevin says. “That’s a
very special opportunity. We think all of the
people working on our projects – not just
our employees, but also our consultant team
and construction team – feel the same way. “
