Tower allows the exterior to be complete,
the bricks and stonework of portions of the
main through the fourth floors of the origi-
nal buildings will be reintegrated into the
new building exterior before the project
reaches completion in 2016.
“The City of Edmonton really supported
that historical element, and was quite coop-
erative and collaborative with us,” John says.
At the same time, the Kelly Ramsey Tower is
also rooted in the modern world. According
to John, it was designed to blend the historic
architecture and “old world culture” of the
deconstructed buildings with “the design
and efficiencies of a modern structure.”With
the main floor retail area, for example, Pang-
man aims to “bring back the life” that used
to be on Rice HowardWay with great restau-
rants and coffee shops for the tenants of the
tower as well as the surrounding neighbor-
hood.
