ig goals don’t frighten Steve Jones.
In fact, it’s the drive to tackle such goals – a mindset honed during
his days as a high school and college football player – that’s allowed
him to transfer the success from sports to business.
Jones is chief executive officer of Universal Services of America, a multi-
pronged Southern California-based operation that’s already seen its com-
bined gross revenues climb from $250 million in 2008 to more than $1 bil-
lion in 2013. And, as far as he’s concerned, there’s no reason to stop aiming
higher.
“I could see us getting to an excess of $2.5 billion (in revenue) in the
next five years,” he says. “We’ll cover the U.S. and have a small international
presence and be considered a leader in both manned security and electronic
security. We feel pretty confident that we’ll achieve our objectives.”
