SUPERIOR SYSTEMS
Operationally, Lake Superior Laundry pro-
cesses have been specifically designed to as-
sure the complete separation of soiled and
clean linen throughout the cleaning modal-
ity. Laundry consistently flows in one direc-
tion through their plants with the assistance
of an extensive rail system which efficiently
delivers laundry to the various production
stations.
On the equipment side of the operation,
Lake Superior Laundry has benefited from
a more than 20-year relationship with G.A.
Braun. The laundry has routinely acquired
what is considered the best equipment from
Braun, who has been internationally recog-
nized for providing engineering innovations
vital to the laundry industry since its incep-
tion in 1946. This equipment allows for
maximum energy efficiency.
The company also makes use of environ-
mentally-friendly chemicals manufactured
by Ecolab. Water-wise, Lake Superior Laun-
dry has employed the most sophisticated
water filtration system available through its
relationship with Kemco Systems, a pioneer-
ing manufacturer of water heaters and water
treatment centers. Blaufuss refers to it as “the
most advanced water reclamation system in
the Midwest... equal to anything in the Unit-
ed States.” Beyond the washing of fabrics,
Lake Superior essentially washes most of its
water, recapturing it for reuse, which cuts
down on the amount of new water needed.
