In terms of technology that touts
speed, nothing may be more tena-
cious and audacious than the new
STR Viper GT3-R. Unveiled this
month by Chrysler Group’s Street
and Racing Technology division, the
GT3-R was designed in collabora-
tion with North Carolina-based Ri-
ley Technologies. Powered by a V10
similar to the traditional Viper, the
GT3-R is aerodynamically sleeker and equipped with front splitters as well as an expansive rear wing
to help prevent it from going airborne. It is additionally complemented with Xtrac six-speed sequential
transmission, a multi-disc race clutch, six-piston front brake calipers, four-piston rears, and much more
in the way of “WOW” - which will all be put to the test when it begins competing in the GT3 racing
class and Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. The SRT Viper GT3-R purchase price strikes at approxi-
mately $459,000. While orders are being taken now, deliveries are expected to be fulfilled later this year.
