Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Coun-
cil (HLAC). While HLAC accreditation
comes with extensive review of operational
processes, Bartsch points to another impor-
tant achievement in the company’s securing
of “Hygienically Clean Healthcare Certifi-
cation.” To achieve this qualification, laun-
dries that serve healthcare have their clean
textile products undergo microbiological
testing and inspection by qualified, third-
party laboratories. Ecotex was among the
first ten companies in America to pass this
certification test, indicating that its laundry
is not merely clean, but hygienically clean,
which as any doctor would attest, makes for
more preferred linen products. Adhering to
these highest of industry standards govern-
ing product cleanliness, operational safety,
and embracing Lean Six Sigma process im-
provement tools have raised standards of
performance, and empowers Ecotex to fulfill
its mission to not only create those “raving
fans,” but deliver smarter linen solutions.
The drive for excellence has led Bartsch
to seek out other resources as well. He is ac-
tive in an international business leadership
group known as the Young Presidents’ Or-
ganization (YPO). Participation allows for
networking opportunities and forums to
discuss ideas, exchange insight on best prac-
tices throughout all industries, and discover
solutions that can help an enterprise operate
more effectively. Through YPO, Bartsch has
improved his own leadership skills, acquired
great ideas and shared some of his strategies
for success.
