nylocal distributors.
“There are a lot of different industries we
cover through distribution,” said Ryan Lew-
ington, General Manager of Operations.
“In Atlantic Canada, we do a lot with Irving
shipyards which have the military contracts
for new icebreakers and frigates. We also do
some forestry and mining,”
Looking ahead, Hy-Lok is hoping to garner
exposure outside of the oil and gas industry
by picking more ulterior and niche locations
– such as a mining show in Timmins and the
Atlantic Petroleum Show in Newfoundland.
“We realized that we have to diversify our
focus and can’t be reliant on the oil patch,”
Drolet said. “We do food and beverage; we
work very closely with the CNG dispenser
manufacturer inWinnipeg. Right now we’re
exploring our options and other avenues that
aren’t so focused on oil and gas.”
GLOBAL PETROLEUM
SHOW
As exhibitors at the 2015 Global Petroleum
Show, Hy-Lok will be looking towards dis-
covering new avenues for future expansion.
The show is set in Calgaryand allows Hy-
Lok the opportunity to collaborate with, and
inspire other vendors as well as offer a dis-
tinct strategy showcasing other aspects of
their business.
“At the show you typically try and display a
mix of your product range,” Rick Drolet said.
“We’ve come to expand our offerings. We
make more of a focus on some of the prod-
ucts that are not the day-to-day commodity
of tube fittings, needle and ball-valve types
of product.”
