Spiezio’s interest in waste services is cur-
rently comprised by three entities known as
R&S Waste (which stands for reliable and
safe), Competition Carting and Can Man
Sanitation. Development of this business all
began with Spiezio’s experience as a custom-
er of other waste collectors and a lender. As
his real estate holdings grew over the years,
he increasingly relied on services that others
were providing. Though he isn’t one to name
names, he says some operators were not al-
ways on time, or they failed to fully dump
the garbage from containers, or they left cans
knocked-over on the street, which often left
him feeling frustrated and disappointed at
