The group was completed when Couples
Sans Souci – home to 150 suites, in Ocho
Rios – was acquired.
All properties cater exclusively to a cou-
ples-only clientele, and the Swept Away
facility alone employs a staff of 600 while
drawing 60 to 70 percent of its annual visi-
tors from the United States. Another 10 per-
cent come from Europe – mostly the United
Kingdom – and 10 percent also arrive from
Canada.
The resort’s busiest season mirrors the
U.S. winter from November to April, and
Lanigan says business drops off in the late
spring and into the summer before the tradi-
tional “offseason” – which corresponds with
the peak of active hurricane season in the At-
lantic – arrives in September and October.
She says occupancy hovers at 90 percent
during the strongest stretches and equates
to an annual rate of 81 percent when config-
