“The beach was phenomenal. The beach
was just great,” Hofer said. “The big question
was ‘Can we build a hotel here?’ Of course,
the problem was how to get the hotel to sit
into the hillside. After a couple months of
moving rocks and soil, they managed to in-
tegrate it very nicely, and then with the land-
scaping and everything they did a very nice
job. It looks from the road like ‘Oh my god,
that’s a massive hotel,’ but once you’re inside
you don’t feel like you’re on a big property.
“It feels very intimate, actually.”
