Planning (ICSP), as the policy came to be
known, encourages communities to find
ways to become more sustainable. Corner
Brook was one of the first municipalities
in Atlantic Canada to incorporate ICSP
into municipal planning policy, merging
it with their traditional Municipal Plan re-
view process. The city of Corner Brook
didn’t stop there, however.
While the Gas Tax revenue sharing and
ICSP owe their existence to federal initia-
tives, Corner Brook’s own municipal ini-
tiatives are outstandingly, eye-poppingly,
