facturers.
Other technology solutions are helping
the dealership save on energy costs as well as
become more environmentally friendly. For
instance, with its network of service centers,
McCurley annually collects thousands of
gallons of waste oil. As opposed to directing
this waste to conventional disposal sites, Mc-
Curley has invested in mechanisms which al-
low that waste oil to fuel furnaces deployed
during the winter time. McCurley says the
furnaces offer “good, clean, heat” with no
fumes and no residue build-up. The reuse of
waste oil has environmental benefits, but it is
also saving the dealerships from utility costs.
The dealership has additionally invested
in special metal halide lighting systems sup-
plied byMetrolight and installed by Breshear
Electric. The system is complemented with
specially-designed ballasts which reduces
electricity consumption, while still provid-
ing the zero color variation light. When in-
stalled at his Mercedes-Benz showroom, the
dealerships reduced their annual electricity
consumption by 66 percent. The reliance
on the technology tools and energy saving
resources assist the company’s efforts to stay
competitive. McCurley says by adopting this
degree of efficiency, the dealerships are able
