Bon Secours Place was launched in No-
vember 2000 as a joint-venture between
Bon Secours Health System and Life Care
Services. Having built, developed, and man-
aged senior living communities nationwide,
Life Care Services provided vast experience
in the development and operation of assist-
ed living communities.
LaRelle Szumski has been Director at
Bon Secours Place since 2007, and previ-
ously worked at Bon Secours Maria Manor
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for four
and a half years. In speaking of the contin-
uum of senior care services offered by Bon
Secours St. Petersburg, Szumski said, “We
have Maria Manor, a skilled nursing facil-
ity, and Bon Secours Home Health Care to
round out our continuum of senior services.
In most of the local Bon Secours systems,
most of the long term care facilities are lo-
cated on or near a Bon Secours hospital. But
we are unique given that we are freestand-
ing, which has enabled us to focus more ex-
clusively on senior service needs in our mar-
ket.”
