That national success follows significant suc-
cess in Texas where beers produced from
Adebert’s Brewery have increasingly flowed
to consumers throughout the market. The
work that went in to achieving that success
isn’t lost on Scott Hovey, a beer connoisseur
who acknowledges that his job is indeed a
great one to have, but don’t get the idea that
it’s not real work.
“Yes, it sounds romantic, but there’s a
downside,” he said. “It’s still about running a
business. You still have to do the things they
do at every other business. You still have to
pay the bills and you still have to manage
your employees. There’s plenty about it that’s
not glamorous.”
As the founder of Adelbert’s Brewery in
Austin, Texas, Hovey and a staff of 15 to 20
-- depending on season -- specialize in cre-
ating hand-crafted Belgian-style ales in the
company’s 10,000 square-foot facility on the
north side of a city bustling with positive
momentum.
The second-largest state’s capital was
ranked No. 10 by Forbes magazine on a list
of the country’s fastest-growing cities in June,
