Dear Reader,
Welcome to the June 2015 edition of Business World Magazine. Summer is upon us and with the warm weather and idyllic
temperatures comes construction and home building. With that in mind, this month’s issue focuses on some of the most exciting
and emerging custom home builders and construction companies across North America, while also shedding the spotlight on
our usual array of standout businesses across a variety of industries – from architecture and hospitality to manufacturing and
distributing.
First off is our cover story for June, Decora Homes. Based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and led by the husband and wife team
Ricky and Rhonda Iula, and Dustin Grenier, the company is building custom homes to reflect the personality and lifestyle of
each individual client. Bringing a new level of custom never before seen in the area, Ricky and Dustin gave us an exclusive look
into just how far the company has grown since they started in 2007, and what’s next for the innovative home builder.
Keeping up with our theme of construction and home building is Toronto-based architecture firm Kearns Mancini Architects.
Driven to embrace the ever-changing nature of architecture, the award-winning firm is driven by a passion for carefully crafted
signature environments that support the needs of clients while transforming their lives. Having been in business for over 30
years, the firm blends experience, design skills and technical expertise to create spaces that delight and empower, while receiving
immense praise and prestige along the way.
If you’re looking for a new summer wine to enjoy, take a trip through Door County, Wisconsin and check out Door Peninsula
Winery. Door County’s original winery with over 50 varieties of fruit wines to choose from, the family owned and operated busi-
ness boasts a rich and flavorful history in the town of Carlsville. Under the guidance of current CEO Robert Pollman, Door
Peninsula Winery continues to grow, while taking the snobbery out of wine and focusing on hand-crafted fun.
In Burlington, Ontario, there is a shopping centre that continues to stand tall as a place of refuge, relaxation and retail therapy.
Opened in 1968, Burlington Mall has been serving Burlington and surrounding areas for more than 40 years. And while the
property has gone through many structural and operational changes, the camaraderie and community spirit is unrelenting.
Winners of the 2014 Recycling Council of Ontario Silver Award, we were given an inside look at what it takes to keep the prop-
erty socially and environmentally responsible.
These stories are just the beginning. We’ve got many more great pieces waiting for you inside the June 2015 edition of Business
World Magazine. Thanks for joining us and we’ll see in July!
