his customers and charge them a reason-
able rate. Since opening in 2006, Diversified
Medical Services has not lost a single client
due to dissatisfaction.
At present, Diversified Medical Services
employs a little more than a dozen people
and maintains a fleet of more than half-a-
dozen vehicles, but Mangum is looking to
grow that along with his client base. He says
the business model he has developed could
easily be adapted for use in other states grap-
pling with the same medical waste concerns.
His ultimate plans include exploring op-
portunities for growth in other areas of the
country, but for now, his focus is still very
much on SouthCarolina where he feels there
is still plenty of room for growth.
By investing in the technology and re-
sources that allow for proper disposal of
medical waste, by maintaining values that
foster safety, reliability and accountability,
Diversified Medical Services not only repre-
sents the kind of professional relationship to
never trash, but also proof that a good inspi-
ration should never go wasted.
