Finlaysons a legal leader in
geothermal energy sector
As part of Finlaysons’ commitment
to the industry, it recently undertook the
major task of preparing legal approvals
checklists for geothermal operations in South
Australia, New South Wales,Tasmania,
Victoria and Western Australia, on behalf
of the Australian Geothermal Energy
Association (AGEA) and the Australian
Geothermal Energy Group (AGEG).
Checklists for Queensland and the Northern
Territory are under way.
Finlaysons knows and understands what
licences, permits, consents, approvals and
authorisations are needed by geothermal
explorers and operators in order to
undertake exploration and production of
electricity from geothermal power in all
Australian jurisdictions.The firm has worked
collaboratively with industry and government
to gather information and know-how
about the regulatory hurdles faced by
the industry, as well as tips and tricks for
getting over them.
Finlaysons are proud to have worked
closely with Petratherm in the development
of its Paralana geothermal project.
