Dr. Polner says physicians can expect to capi-
talize in the Commercial ACO market. He
says many insurance plans prefer to partner
with a clinically integrated group of physi-
cians, especially when they provide superior
patient care and demonstrates cost effective
medicine.
In terms of the final component, Dr.
Polner says primary care physicians will
share in the benefit of being shareholders of
a primary care “doctor owned” Management
Service Organization. PremierMDmembers
not only benefit from higher “Per Member
Per Month” (PMPM) reimbursement, but
also share in the financial benefit (plan sur-
plus) of independently governed and admin-
istrated Medicare advantage contracts.
