Minor tidal flooding has forced the suspension of some Brisbane River ferry services for the second day in a row.
The Brisbane City Council says higher than usual tides have already affected CityCat and CityFerry services, with the Bulimba, Teneriffe and Hawthorne terminals and services now closed.
“All operating services are now running at reduced speeds and not to timetable. These service changes are expected to be in effect until approximately midday (AEST),” the council said in a statement on Thursday.
Thursday morning’s high tide peaked just before 11am (AEST).
There was minor tidal flooding along the river on Wednesday, and ferry services were shut down due to debris in the river, and some flooding of ferry terminals.
The council said minor tidal flooding was expected to affect low-lying roads, bikeways and parks on Thursday in parts of Windsor, Albion, Bowen Hills, Newstead, East Brisbane, Woolloongabba, Teneriffe, Lota, Wynnum and Hemmant.
