Dear Reader,
It’s with great pleasure that I present to you the April 2015 edition of Business World Magazine. In this month’s issue, we profile
some of the most exciting and influential companies from across North America and a wide variety of industries. From com-
mercial cleaners, cities and resorts, to emergency services, construction and much more.
Our cover story for April is none other than Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems, a premier commercial cleaning franchise which, in 24
years of service, has extended its reach around the globe. We had the opportunity to speak with Chief Operating Officer Dennis
Thompson to catch up on the company’s recent developments, including the launch of the sister brand Maid Right, and what
makes Jan-Pro the top choice in commercial cleaning.
Also featured this month is The Bermuda Department of Marine and Port Services. This government agency is responsible
for overseeing the safe operation of international shipping, commercial and recreational vessels in the local waters. Lieutenant
Commander Richard Russell is the Director of the department, he detailed what it takes to keep Bermuda ports and waterways
safe and efficient, and the challenges involved in the process.
Winners of the prestigious Trinidad and Tobago Contractors Association award for Contractor of the Year six times since the
year 2000, NH International (Caribbean) Limited have established a reputation for success in the construction services and
management markets. Speaking with Managing Director John Connon, we learn more about some of their high-profile proj-
ects, the cornerstones of their corporate culture, and what’s next for the Caribbean contractor.
The City of Fayetteville, North Carolina is known as one of America’s most patriotic cities, as well as one of the country’s top
locations to start a business. Mayor Nat Robertson and Public Information Officer Nathan Walls gave us the chance to learn
more about what makes Fayetteville a unique and diverse community, in addition to their economic development strategies and
green initiatives.
Finally, we have the Alaska Seafood Cooperative (AKSC). Under the motto “Wild Seafood Harvested Responsibly”, the AKSC
is a group of “catcher-processor” fisher companies that have come together to better manage The Bering Sea, as well as other
non-pollock fisheries. General Manager Jason Anderson took time out to detail what the AKSC is doing to find solutions to
challenges facing the fishing industry, and what the future holds for the group.
There are plenty more riveting stories about industry-leaders, award-winners, companies building their brand and those that
have been around for more than a century. From the entire team here at Business World Magazine, we sincerely hope you enjoy
you read.
As always, thank you for reading,
Brycin Gaudette-Reagin
