Letter from the Editor
“We shall meet again before long,” confirmed Commander Garibaldi, “to MARCH to new triumphs.” And with that, on behalf
of the troupe here, we are pleased to present the March issue of Business World Magazine. This, indeed, is a season to celebrate
triumph for March is imbued with a particular form of madness, which for many, is fueled by fondness for our favorites teams
in basketball. In fact, this month, in the course of our discussions with business leaders throughout North America, a few have
shared their “picks” or current position in office pools involving brackets of the NCAA Tournament ( friends in Kentucky may
now wish to pause for a moment of silence).
Business will always be more of a competition than a game, but team sports certainly impart invaluable lessons for any enter-
prise. Whether it is basketball or hockey, or football, winners emerge from those who are most able to work together as a team.
Yet, for every victory achieved, what came first were countless hours of practice, disciplined commitment to learning the plays,
honing strengths and learning how to function as a team. Sometimes, star players will emerge from the ranks, but for every in-
dividual accomplishment, more often than not, it is the cohesiveness of the base that allows for singular distinction.
As you read this month’s coverage of companies, franchise opportunities and institutions that are serving for the betterment of
their industry, behind each is a team of people who have not only scored incredible success, but rigorously dedicated themselves
to honing their strengths while embracing disciplined commitment to best practices in terms of serving their customers, serv-
ing their community, and following processes that lead to greater operational safety, or in some cases, a safer environment. For
these companies, their greatest assets and material resources may come in the form of their conscious commitment to cooperation
and collaboration. Whether you’re reading of the winners we’re recognizing in community banking, construction, franchising,
healthcare, manufacturing or transportation, some also will account of grave personal and professional loss they endured long
before they emerged as winners in their field. They refused to be defined by defeat, and devoted their time and energy to making
improvements which led to innovations that have not only provided solutions for their customers, but also their communities,
and even the world as we know it.
Our team is honored to have an opportunity to serve as cheerleaders for these industry all-stars, and we are especially encouraged
by the team of advertisers and businesses who have not only embraced our mission to provide news and information that is often
missed, but have also partnered in such a way as to make our work possible. For all of you, we remain so grateful.
From our team to your team ... we shall meet again before long to march to new triumphs.
And by the way – GO EAGLES!
