The New South Wales Government will meet with the Nurses Association after more hospital bed closures across the state.
The association has been closing beds in an effort to force the Government to increase staffing levels.
Since industrial action began, 344 beds at 46 hospitals have been closed and more hospitals, including Liverpool and Campbelltown, are meeting this week.
The association’s Acting General Secretary, Judith Kiedja says the health department has called a meeting for tomorrow at the Industrial Relations Commission.
“I’m sincerely hoping that the Government has used the last one and half weeks to understand the breadth and depth of feeling,” she said.
“We’ve got our officers out there walking the wards while this is happening, we’re hearing some really, really ordinary stories about the staffing levels and we’re just hoping that the government has been able to take notice of that.”
