Founded in France in 1990, Rubis spe-
cializes in the downstream petroleum sector,
operating bulk liquid storage facilities for
petroleum products and chemicals through
a subsidiary, Rubis Terminals, and distribut-
ing fuels through another subsidiary, Rubis
Energie.
It’s expanded the corporate footprint
through direct investment and acquisitions
since 2000, initially in Africa and Europe
and more recently into the Caribbean region
in 2005 – when it purchased Shell opera-
tions in the French Antilles and Bermuda.
Rubis has more than 400 employees
across the English-speaking Caribbean in
specialties that include shipping, supply and
trading, aviation, finance, sales, marketing,
operations and information technology.
Rubis Aviation is a leading supplier of avi-
ation fuels in the region with a presence in
16 Caribbean airports. With a fleet of four
bulk petroleum vessels, the shipping, supply
and trading organization is also based in Bar-
bados and supports the core business across
the region by supplying high quality fuels at
a competitive cost to all Rubis affiliates in
the region.
