west coastline – will shutter its doors from
April 26 through June 20 as part of a project
that Kycek describes as a “hard and fast reno-
vation project” intended to update existing
rooms and facilities and create several addi-
tional features for new and returning guests.
“Everything is lined up,” Kycek says.
“There’s nothing on the property that won’t
be touched-up or im-
proved.”
Included in the wall-
to-wall upgrade is the
opening of additional
dining outlets, the tear-
ing down of structures
on site that are no longer
needed and the renova-
tion of exiting pool fa-
cilities to, as Kycek says,
“bring them up to anoth-
er level.”
“It’s an ambitious
project and a tight time-
line, but we’re working
with good people and
that’s what they do,” he
says. “They know the
landscape and they know
what we’re looking for
and when.”
Speaking of landscapes, they’ve got a
pretty good one to work with.
The resort is nestled alongside Marigot
Bay, a locale once described by American au-
thor James Michener as “the most beautiful
in the Caribbean.” In addition to myriad res-
taurant and activity options, it’s also home
to the Lapli Spa and the Capella Marina at
