customer-service approach for its on-site pa-
tients and families.
“It’s far more than a financial arrange-
ment,” Hawken says. “It’s a skill-set training.
It’s usmaking tangible contributions through
painting, cleaning, helping and material do-
nations; that type of thing. That’s the one I’m
most proud of in terms of our relationships
with the community.”
Going forward, even bigger things are ex-
pected.
The goal within five years, Hawken says,
is to have an expanded resort on the existing
85 acres of land, in addition to the creation
of a small boutique resort to go along with
it. “That’s the dream,” he says, while the im-
mediate reality is the completion of the 34
additional rooms along with expanded infra-
structure and services that will include new
adult pools and new restaurants.
The resort underwent a $6 million reno-
vation last September, and Hawken says it’ll
close for another month this September to
upgrade and improve the existing facilities
and infrastructure.”
“I see an expanded role in the community
and I also see an expanded resort,” he says.
“We continue to work assiduously toward
fulfillment of our strategic outlook: ‘Going
from Good to Great, through Accountabil-
ity.’”
