The Author Richelle Mead once said, “There are little gems all around us that can hold glim-
mers of inspiration.”The observation would especially sparkle true in Greenwich, Connecticut,
where more than 25 years ago, a glimmer of inspiration helped galvanize community leaders
to create “GEMS,” a not-for-profit enterprise whose services are indeed precious and priceless
when it comes to public safety and the saving of life.
