The golf club is a private entity with-
in the residential community and outside
memberships are, in Ritter’s words, “al-
lowed, but not encouraged.”
“It’s not what I would call a golf course
for the old and feeble,” he says. “This is a
challenging golf course. If you’re a golf-
er, this is the place that you want to come
if you retire.”
Head professional Jeff Bebbino, of
Billy Casper Golf, is among those tasked
with maintaining the golf standard and
ensuring that members indeed have the
high-end experience typically associated
with a private facility.
The course includes 10 par-4 holes that
range in yardage from 318 to 466, four
par-5s that stretch from 542 yards to 550
and four more par-3s that fall between
156 yards and 207.
The par-3 third hold has a green sur-
rounded by pot bunkers, the par-3 12th
plays downhill from an elevated tee to a
large green and the 406-yard par-4 18th
incorporates a view of the sprawling
38,000-square-foot clubhouse while forc-
ing players to decide on a long iron or a
driver off the tee.
That clubhouse, incidentally, also of-
fers indoor and outdoor pools for a post-
round dip, tennis courts and an aerobics
studio/fitness center, as well as options
for casual dining.
