borhood would contact them for anything
that involved strong backs and a truck. Word
quickly spread about the group of friendly
college students that could help sort, move,
recycle and dispose of people’s items. From
that buzz, a business was born.
Today, College Hunks is a household
brand name. Clients include the federal gov-
ernment, Fortune 500 companies and over
70,000 homeowners.
Director of Marketing Chris Jackson
started with the company in Raleigh, North
Carolina, working under a franchise owner,
“beginning at the lowest rung of the totem
pole,” he says. Jackson worked his way up
the ladder, eventually becoming Operations
Manager and then General Manager of the
Raleigh franchise operation.
“I created a proposal and pitched myself
as a valuable asset on the corporate side of
the business. I saw a lot of opportunities for
