Flooding is expected to take several days to go down in southeast Queensland with several people rescued from rising floodwaters.
A teenager was rescued at Dalby, west of Brisbane, on Monday after he spent four hours clinging to a tree above raging floodwaters.
Several attempts to rescue 17-year-old Matt McKay failed before he was eventually rescued by boat on Myall Creek Crossing about 3.30pm (AEDT).
Three State Emergency Service (SES) crew members were also rescued on Monday afternoon after their boat capsized during two attempts to save the teenager.
Myall Creek, the main waterway through Dalby, peaked at three metres on Monday evening, before dropping to 2.8 metres and hovering there.
A Western Downs Regional Council spokeswoman said flooding was expected to take several days to go down.
No evacuations were necessary, she added.
An adult and three children had to be rescued after their boat overturned in the Burnett River at Branyan, near Bundaberg.
The occupants were discovered clinging to a tree in the water and were uninjured.
Emergency services are urging people to avoid the floods with five people across the state dying in the last three weeks as a result of entering floodwaters.
